Catherine M. (Ketcham) Conover

October 28, 1949 - November 14, 2016

Cathy grew up in West Belmar, NJ, and loved spending her free time at the beach with
her girlfriends.  She graduated from Wall Township High School in 1967, and
attended Monmouth College in Long Branch.  

Cathy was known for her artistic eye and creativity.  She had a successful career as a
floral designer that spanned the coasts, including as the head designer at
Amoroso’s Florist in Trenton, The Grand Wailea, Maui, Hawaii, and Mt Scott
Florals in Portland, Oregon.  

Besides being with her grandchildren, the time Cathy spent living in Hawaii was her
favorite.  She loved the weather, the vibe, and the colors.  She loved the life
of aloha--you would never see Cathy wearing black.  She felt she was good at all
things “Donna Reed”, but she excelled in cooking, decorating,and sewing. and
believed that Martha Stewart was a fraud (as a crafter, that is).

Cathy was predeceased by her parents, Harold and Helen Ketcham, and her brother James
Ketcham, Sr.  She leaves behind her daughters and their husbands (whom she
adored): Kirsten and Jim Pendleton, and Beth and Dennis Schmit; her
sister-in-law Lois Ketcham, her nephews James Ketcham, Jr, Bradley Ketcham, and
Shawn Ketcham, and their families.  But most of all she leaves behind her
grandchildren Fyre Skye Schmit and Griffin Pendleton, who will always carry Nana
in their hearts.

A Celebration of the Life of Cathy Conover will be held at Dorothea Dix Unitarian
Universalist Community, 39 Park St, Bordentown, on December 17 at 10 am.  We
will begin sharing stories and memories at 11am; please feel free to bring your
story to share.
