Irene Lois Fackina, the beloved daughter of Almeda Francis, née Breece and Willard Francis, was born May 2, 1940 in Yardley, Pennsylvania and received her angelic wings on January 2, 2023 in Trenton, New Jersey. Irene was a member of the Class of 1959 of Pennsbury High School in Fairless Hills, Pennsylvania. Irene, also affectionately known as “Mom Mom” or “Aunt Renie” was employed by Trenton Board of Education as a Custodian at Grace A. Dunn Middle School for over 20 years.
Irene was known as the “Crazy Cat Lady” because she loved to take care of strays and donated money/supplies to animals. Another unique attribute Irene embodied was her love of wolves. Additionally, she was a former member of the Marine Corp League Ladies Auxiliary and an avid baker with a large following for her delicious Christmas cookies. No matter where she went, Irene made friends everywhere. However, those who knew and loved her knew she could be stubborn, a typical Taurus trait. Irene certainly had a “my way or the highway mentality”.
Irene was predeceased by her husband Robert Peter Fackina, Sr., her mother, Almeda Francis (née Breece), Father, Willard Francis, Sisters, Marie Delany, Catherine (Hurley) Rush, and Margaret Estok. She leaves to mourn a son, Robert Peter Fackina, Jr. and his wife, Sara Fackina, a daughter, Kathryn Ann Fackina, grandsons, Christopher Robert Dowling, Michael Francis Dowling.
