Donna S. Larry was born to William and Virginia Larry on March 10, 1957 in Valley Forge, PA. The eldest of seven children she was raised in Spanish Harlem where she attended Our Lady Queen of Angels Catholic School. She later moved to Brooklyn, NY where she attended Erasmus Hall High School. She had a long time career as a Medical Secretary at Long Island College Hospital. After the birth of her third child she moved out of New York to the suburbs of Hamilton Township, NJ where she lived out the rest of her life.
She worked as a bank teller for upwards of ten years at Roma Bank. She raised not only her children but had a hand in raising her grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She became a child care provider for not just family members but friends as well. She was there always to help many family members and friends whenever they needed. She loved life. She loved all of her family and she especially loved family time during the holidays, especially Christmas. She loved buying gifts for ALL of her nieces, nephews, their children and extended family members. She loved spending time with “Her” girls.
Her love of music was contagious. She loved shopping, shoes, perfume, pocketbooks and jewelry. Donna was fancy and stylish. She was so much more than a fighter and defeater of an ailment that she won the victory over some time ago, but for whatever reason God found it in his heart to bless her with eternal life. She was a hero. She fought a good fight. She was a loving mother, and awesome aunty, a great sister and for some a best friend. She was a phenomenal woman. She was a hero.
Donna was preceded in death by both of her parents and her common law husband John W. Griffin, “Mann” - who was the love of her life.
She leaves to cherish her memory; her sons, Joseph Walker, Nicholas Rodriguez, David Erving and her loving daughter Majorca Larry, 6 siblings; Mona Larry, Nyla Larry, William Larry, Mark Larry, Simone Larry and Virginia Larry (Basis). 5 grandchildren, 24 nieces and nephews, 32 great nieces and nephews; 3 great-great nieces & nephews (all of whom she loved very much) and a host of family and friends.
