Timothy Darnel Best

Timothy Darnel Best was born on May 6, 1968 and departed this life on September 27, 2010. He was predeceased by his maternal grandmother Ruth Parker and his paternal grandmother Anna Yates Howard; special uncle, David Johnson, Sr. ; and best friend Kelvin Allen Russell.

Timmy was lifelong resident of Princeton, NJ and Member of Mt. Pisgah A.M.E. Church, Princeton for over 15 years.

Timmy’s primary education was through the Princeton Public School System and he later graduated Trenton High School in 1986. He was a gifted athlete who played football throughout high school. After graduation, he served and was Honorably Discharged from the U.S. Army. Following his military service, Timmy attended Elizabeth City State University in North Carolina.

Those left to mourn his memory are his life partner, Ashante Thompson, daughters Brandi and Tajah Best, sons Ahmad Best and Tyler Owens; mother Sally Ann Kornegay and father Melvyn Jerome Best; sisters Dr. Yvette Best, Leanna Wooten, and Melissa and Mirinda Best; special niece Jianna Best; four other nieces and five nephews; loving unc les Thomas (Joanne Parker) and Lawrence Parker (Shirleen Parker); a host of cousins; an aunt Rose Yates; a great aunt and Godmother Edith Savage Jennings (Donald Jennings); a godson John Hayes, III; close personal friends Leot Russell and children; Darryl Hemingway; Johnny Vaughn; and a host of special friends near and far whose lives he touched throughout the years.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday @ 9:45am at the Princeton University Chapel/Murray Dodge Hall, Princeton, NJ 08544. Visitation will be held at the Chapel on Tuesday from 8:30 – 9:45am.
