Samuel Everett

SAMUEL EVERETT, son of the late Michael and Agnes Cooper Everett, began his earthly life in Northampton County, North Carolina on December 22, 1928, and entered into eternal rest and peace on Monday, August 30, 20l0 at the Millhouse Nursing and Rehabilitation Facility in Trenton, New Jersey.

His formal education was received in the public schools of Northampton County, North Carolina and after leaving school, he served his country by enlisting in the United States Air Force. Following his discharge of duty as Airman 3rd class from the U. S. Air Force, he later moved to Newark, New Jersey to seek employment.

“Sam” was a fun-loving and very jovial person who loved people. As a result of these qualities he never met a stranger and was well received by everyone he met.

His employment afforded him the opportunity to meet many people. He was a taxi driver for the city of Newark for 16 years, a shuttle bus driver for Newark Airport and retired as a bus driver from the Camptown Bus Company.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother Joe Ralph Everett and two sisters Elnora Everett Briggs and Ropelle Everett Richards.

Treasured memories of his life remains with his three children: Derwin Griffin (Janice) of Norfolk, Virginia, Pamela N Jones (Mark) of Trenton, New Jersey, and Gregory Newell of Newark, New Jersey; seven grandchildren, five great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews other relatives and friends. Funeral Service will be held Friday 11AM at Ledford Funeral Home, 929 South Clinton Avenue, Trenton. Visitiation will be held on Friday at Ledford Funeral Home from 10 - 11AM.
