
Annie Lee Thompson, 63, born May 28, 1946 in Sandersville, Ga to Arthur Lee Thompson and Inez Paulhill Thompson. Annie departed this life on Thursday, October 16, 2009 at St. Francis Medical Center after a long illness. Annie was employed for 35 years at the New Jersey Department of Labor & Workforce Development as a Principal Payroll Clerk in the Division of Temporary Disability Services. She formally retired in September 2008. She graduated from Trenton Central High School in 1964 and shortly thereafter was employed with Circle F Industries in Trenton, NJ. Annie was very active in church, community and civic organizations. She enjoyed BBQ’s and celebrating her birthday during the Memorial Day weekend. She was a member of the Macedonia Baptist Church Senior Choir for many years and served as Vice President in the 1990’s. Annie was also a member of the Usher Board. Additionally, she was active in the Eastern Star’s Samuel S. Dade Lodge and was a member of the Cavaliers Drill Team and Alumni Association. She was a member of the South Trenton Jolly Stompers. She was an active member of the Communications Workers of America Local 1034 and was a shop steward for her bargaining unit in the Division of Temporary Disability Services. Annie always lived life abundantly and enjoyed socializing with friends. She enjoyed life to the fullest and always taught her children to live their lives to the fullest as well. She loved working and for many years sold Fuller Brush Products.
Annie is predeceased by her common law husband David E. Johnson, best friends Linda Ball, Fannie Wise, Clara Govan. She is survived by her parents, Arthur & Inez Thompson, 2 daughters, Cheri Renee & Olabisi Thompson, 5 grandchildren, Cheanna Irving, Beyahne Thompson, Isaiah Irving, Brooklyn & Bravery Thompson-Farrell, brothers, Cedric & Marvin Campbell, all of Trenton, NJ, sister Darlene Thompson of Brooklyn, NY, special cousins, Joanne Lewis of Trenton, Bertha Harris & B.F. Harris of Sandersville, GA and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends especially from the NJ Department of Labor & Workforce Development.
Funeral Service will be held on Saturday 11AM at Macedonia Baptist Church, 1300 Greenwood Avenue, Trenton. Visitation will be held at the church on Saturday from 9 – 11AM.
