Curtis Ray Harris “Curt”

Curtis Ray Harris, otherwise known as “Curt”, departed this life on Tuesday, October 10, 2006 at Capital Health System at Mercer, Trenton. He was born in Snow Hill, North Carolina and educated in the Ayden School System, NC. He moved to Trenton, NJ in 1962 and was employed by Westinghouse for 17 years as a mechanic. He then moved on to Waste Management Incorporated under the title Mechanic Assistant, retiring from there after 17 years, due to illness. Also in1962, Curtis married Bernice Finch and from this union three children were born: Jacqueline Harris (Lloyd Lee II) of Trenton, NJ, Michael Harris (Karen) of Trenton, NJ and Marc Harris (Alanda) of Carteret, NJ.

He is also survived by two brothers, Elmer Ray (Ruth) and Charlie (Caroline), two sisters, Mildred Harris and Johnnie Mae Patton, five grandchildren Kenneth Graham, Amani LaVonne Harris, Marc Jalen Harris, Asia Lanaye Harris and Corinha “Corky B” Harris; one special aunt, Cora B. Hines, one special nephew Alvin McCarter and one special friend, Mary Grace Dixon; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other family and friends. Curtis was preceded in death by his two sisters Elvira King and Mary Agnes Harris, and one brother James Braxton Harris.

Funeral Services was held on Monday, October 16, 2006, 12 Noon at Ledford Funeral Home 929 South Clinton Avenue, Trenton. Visitation was held on Monday from 10 AM until 12 Noon at Ledford Funeral Home. Interment was held at Ewing Cemetery, Ewing Township, New Jersey.
