 Mrs. C. Joan McDaniel of Edison, (formerly of Newark and the Oranges), passed away on Tuesday, October 31st, 2006 at JFK Hospital in Edison.Funeral Service was held on Saturday 11/4/06 at Phillips Metropolitan C.M.E. Church, 27 Morris Ave., Newark. Visitation was held on Friday, 11/3/06 at the church from 6 – 9 PM with a Service of Remembrance beginning at 8 PM. Born in Damascus, Georgia, Joan was a New Jersey resident for most of her life. Joan was employed by Verizon (formerly NJ Bell) for 32 years until her retirement in 1992. She was a dedicated member and officer at the Phillips Metropolitan C.M.E. Church. Mrs. McDaniel was preceded in death by her husband, Donald L. McDaniel, Sr. Surviving are her loving son and daughter-in-law, Donald, Jr. and Rhonda McDaniel of North Plainfield; a grand-daughter, Amanda; a grand-son, Donald, 3rd; and 2 sisters: Helen (Bill) Lewis of Elizabeth and Doretha Webb of Middlesex.
