Giovanna (Joanne) Primus Woolf was born on May 29th 1947 in Philadelphia, PA and went home to be with the Lord on December 13th 2016.
In her early years, Giovanna was a hairdresser by trade then was honored to be a stay at home mom to raise her girls. Later on, she worked as an account representative at Philadelphia Insurance Company and retired in 2009.
She loved the Lord, her family, crafting and Bingo! People were drawn to her outgoing spirit and she made friends instantly. If she were to sit down with you she would ask about your story and tell you to never give up. One thing she would always say is “say what you mean and mean what you say.”
She was a true fighter while she battled breast cancer for almost 24 years. She never gave up. It was important to her to be with her family as long as the Lord allowed. She wants you all to know cancer did not take her. It was her time and the Lord took her home. She said stomp your feet, cry, then get over it. You have a life to live and God has a purpose for your life.
She is survived by her loving husband, Edward Woolf, sister, Diane Pogue and brother, Victor Primus Jr. She was pre-deceased by her parents, Victor and Margaret Primus. She is also survived by 4 children, Barbara (husband Scott), Tammie (husband Robert) , Jaime (Husband Sean), and Jodi-Lynn (Husband) Joseph and 3 step children, Wendy (Husband Bob), April, and William (wife Tess) she was a proud grandmother, called Nonna, to 16 grandchildren. She is also survived by many close cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. She is at peace and is now safely wrapped in the arms of Jesus.
The family wishes to thank all of those who cared for her during her illness. Her memorial will be held at Calvary Chapel of Philadelphia, 13500 Philmont Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19116, on Saturday December 17th at 10am. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the American Cancer Association
